Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does the Nanny placement process work?
All families interested in hiring a Nanny are encouraged to fill out the family application. Completing the application is FREE until you decide to proceed with our service. It also helps to narrow down exactly what kind of service you need. Our application fee is a one time fee of $475 (for long term service), that never has to be repaid as long as you have children. We want you to chose us over and over again!
Payment of the application fee allows you to start interviewing our wonderful caregivers. A service contract , placement fees must be paid and a Nanny/Parent agreement will be signed before the Nanny starts working.
We offer two options for Nanny placement: Nanny Staffing and Traditional Permanent Placement. Based on criteria specified on your application, our team will narrow down a list of candidates that are best suited to your position. In addition, you may browse our online directory of available Nannies and request interviews using our online form. Our team will schedule interviews with chosen candidates at your convenience.
The Nanny Staffing option allows the family to pay the agency a flat fee for a seasoned Staff Nanny and give two weeks notice when services are to be terminated. The Staff Nannies are trained, insured and very experienced. They most often work with the families of our corporate accounts, but they are available to all of our families. This option is excellent for long or short term arrangements.
Permanent Placement is for families prepared to take on the responsibility of taking care of the Nanny's pay and employment taxes. Permanent Placement is a one time fee that may cover your nanny for 90 days to one year if for some reason you need to rehire.
Is there a limit on the number of Nannies I can interview?
No. However, in most cases families will interview 2-4 candidates before selecting one to hire. We do ask for a review of each candidate to narrow our search to your needs more efficiently.
How soon can a Nanny start?
Georgetown Nanny's staffing service provides short-term nannies with 48-hours notice.
How much is the placement fee?
Our Permanent Placement fee is a standard fee that is not based on a percentage of what you choose to pay your nanny. Both Staffing and Permanent Placement options include one year of service and ongoing support, all the training and classes the agency offers for your nanny, background checks and other screens.

What if I don't like the Nanny I've chosen?
We go to great lengths to pre-screen our Nannies and to fully understand our families' requirements in order to increase the possibility of a lasting union between nanny and family. However, things sometimes happen. In the unlikely event that the Nanny of your choice does not work out, we will work with you to find a more suitable replacement as quickly as possible. If your decision to switch nannies is within the first year of the Nanny's employment, we will not charge you a second placement fee for the new Nanny. A satisfied client is our best advertising.
What are the ways I can pay my Nanny?
With the Permanent Placement Option, you can pay the Nanny yourself as you would any household employee or you can use our Staffing Service. We can also refer you to a household accounting firm that many of our clients use.
What if I have a child with special needs?
We cater to ALL children and ALL families. We have nannies who specialize in the care of children with disabilities or developmental delays. Let us know your challenges. We will find ways to overcome them.
